Our History

The Downey Police Officers' Association (DPOA) was established to support the men and women serving as law enforcement officers in the Downey community. Founded to represent and advocate for its members, the DPOA has a long-standing commitment to improving the professional lives and welfare of Downey police officers.

Through the years, the association has played a vital role in negotiating fair labor practices, ensuring safe working conditions, and fostering camaraderie within the department. In addition, the DPOA actively engages in community outreach and charitable initiatives, bridging the gap between law enforcement and residents to create a safer, stronger community.

Today, the association remains dedicated to supporting its members and building a positive relationship with the community it serves.
